There is a moment when everything changes.

For me, it came on a March morning when a voice on the phone said words I never expected to hear. Stage 1 adenocarcinoma. Cancer. In my esophagus. I was standing in my kitchen, and the world went completely still.

My mother was already in the hospital. My brother had just picked me up to go see her when I felt myself sinking , not metaphorically, but literally, to the floor. We ended up in the same emergency room that night, my mother and I. She in one room. Me in another.

What followed was one of the most profound and difficult chapters of my life. A major surgery to remove part of my esophagus. A second emergency surgery when a feeding tube became dislodged and my body began to fill with feed. The terrifying experience of floating above my own body in the operating room, watching the team work to save me. Five days after surgery, fighting just to take a single step. Lungs that wouldn't cooperate. Legs that threatened to give way.

And then, on June 4th, before I had even begun to truly heal, my mother passed away.
We hadn't had a single moment to grieve. There were arrangements to make, affairs to handle, and a surgical recovery that demanded everything I had left. I had to learn what it truly means to keep going when keeping going feels impossible.

A few months later, rushing through an airport in Utah, I fell and shattered my left shoulder. Surgery number three. Then a fourth, when the first repair failed.

I want you to know all of this not because I want your sympathy, but because I want you to understand something important.

I did not come to this work from a place of ease. I came to it through the storm.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that , the hospitals, the grief, the long road back to myself, I discovered something that changed everything. Not because it predicted my future or gave me easy answers, but because it helped me hear myself again. My own wisdom. My own knowing. The quiet voice that had been there all along, waiting for me to be still enough to listen.

That discovery was oracle cards.

I know how that might sound. I was skeptical too, once. But here is what I learned: oracle cards are not about magic or mystery. They are mirrors. They reflect back the wisdom you already carry within you, the clarity that gets buried under fear, grief, noise, and the sheer weight of living.
